Hayagriva is an incarnation of Lord Maha Vishnu. He is depicted with human body, horse face with white garment and seated in white lotus. Haya implies “Horse” and Greeva means neck. The horse faced appearance of Lord Vishnu is the God of Wisdom and knowledge.
This Homam is performed by invoking Lord Hayagriva followed by the chanting of Hayagriva Mantra and then performing the homam.
