It is believed that the Sripada Thirtha can cure complex and acute skin diseases

During Dhanur Masa- December to January, it is believed that to this day the Sapta Rishis appear to perform worship of Sri Narasimha during the Bramha Muhurta, everyday.

During the Rath Yatra, before the Rath is pulled, during the afternoon time, a Garuda appears on the sky and after 3 circles only the rath is pulled.

Temple Legend:

Lord Brahma during Dwapara yuga is said to have stayed here and prayed for over 2000 years. It is here that Narasimha appeared and gave him a vision of himself with Lakshmi. Lord Brahma has installed the main deity here.

When Lord Rama did not have water to put his tilak, he took his arrow and pierced a rock from where water even today continuously flows. The river that flows from here is called JayaMangali river. It is a mix of the Jaya and the Mangala Thirthas located on top of the devarayanadurga mountains.
