Significance of the Temple:
The presiding deity Sri Dasa Anjaneya can be witnessed here as a student, kneeling in front of his guru, Sri Rama. Both the hands of the chief deity are folded, with their palms connected. The idol is in the 'anjali' pose, i.e. offering 'pranams' and respects to the great Lord Rama
Great Saint Vyasatheerthulu / Vyasaraya toured with his disciples on foot, they tool rest for a while at Indra Kiladri, Lord Anjaneya appeared before them in the form of a Vanara and indicated the saint to follow him. The saint along with his disciples followed him and traveled far and wide to reach Machavaram. Lord Maruti in vanara form asked Sri Vyasatheerthulu to construct a temple at that place and to install the Anjaneya vigraham (idol) with Sankh and Chakra on the either side of the idol. After having directed so Lord Maruti proceeded towards northern direction reciting Ramanamam and disappeared.
